Since I feel like I am always on the go or just worrying about what my family eats, I find myself snacking more than sitting down to actual meals. I am actually usually a bad snacker and eat chips and sweets, but lately I have been trying to eat more granola bars. I have especially been looking for granola bars with extra Fiber since I feel I am lacking that in my diet. I just read too that less than 10% of Americans are getting the suggested amount of fiber needed.
Well Kellogg’s has come out with their newFiberPlus bars and they are yummy! The bars come in three flavors: Dark Chocolate Almond, Chocolate Chip and Chocolatey Peanut Butter. They not only contain 35% of your daily fiber, but they also have antioxidants like Vitamin E and Zinc. Now usually high fiber foods taste blah or plain, but these bars are rich and actually taste like they are far from healthy, as they are so good! I actually let my son’s try these and they liked them, and they are picky!
Other than antioxidants and fiber, FiberPlus bars also contain 7 grams of whole grains, which is especially important since 80% of Americans aren’t getting enough whole grains in their diet. Oh and there is of course calcium in the bars to help build strong bones.
Overall, I was super impressed with how delicious these bars are. It was deceiving because when I saw the box they just looked “too healthy” which usually means I don’t like them. I could actually eat more than one in a sitting! I definitely recommend checking them out, even if you already have a favorite fiber bar, the Kellogg’s ones definitely deserve a chance!
