Book Review & Giveaway: "Chicken Soup for the Soul: NASCAR" – 3 Winners US/CAN! (Ends 3/15)

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Nascar: 101 Stories of Family, Fortitude, and Fast Cars

By Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen & Cathy Elliot
416 Pages (Paperback)
Date Published:  February 16, 2009
NASCAR and Chicken Soup for the Soul join forces, with well-known NASCAR columnist Cathy Elliott leading the charge. NASCAR drivers, their families, and teams slow down enough to share their stories of family, fortitude, and fast cars. Readers will get a behind-the-scenes look at the action on and off the track. Famous drivers and those closest to them, pit crews, families, and fans all share their stories of perseverance, triumph, comebacks, and life. Fans will get a front row view, and be inspired, surprised, and sometimes amused by these exclusive, up close stories from the track, pit, and the road.
Honestly, I know nothing about NASCAR and I really don’t like the sport in general, but I still appreciated the book and I know quite a few people who would love it!  The stories are real and told fro drivers and other NASCAR insiders.  The book is also neatly broken down into sections including:
Lessons Learned, Dale, Behind and Beyond the Wheel, Never Give Up, Romance and Other Random Acts of Racing, Behind the Billboards, The Secrets to Success, Heroes Everyday and Otherwise, The Business of Speed, The Best Medicine, On (and Off) Track, and All in the Family.
I really think my father-in-law who I have never seen touch a book, might even enjoy this Chicken Soup bool because he is a HUGE NASCAR fan!  If all else it can be a bathroom book for the man in your life!  (Come on that is where they read anyways!)  It is easy to pick up and read a story since it is only 2-3 pages.  I would definitely recommend this book for any NASCAR fan or car fan in general really!

I actually liked the idea of Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Story behind the Song too. It's always neat to find out what the songwriter was thinking about, as it's not always what you think! Hope to get this NASCAR one for my father-in-law.
